Let’s learn & grow together…

Abstract & Experimental Photography Mastermind Groups 2027-28

There are an increasing number of photographers who are interested in challenging traditional photography and pushing the creative capacity of both their camera and themselves. If you’re one of those photographers, this program is designed for you!

The Abstract & Experimental Photography Mastermind Group is a 12-month program designed specifically for the exploration of non-traditional photography. Our focus is supporting you in creating, playing, processing, curating, and presenting your abstract images in a way that reflects your individual voice. We’ll learn about and practice techniques such as Intentional Camera Movement, multiple exposures (in-camera and created in Photoshop), cyanotypes, collage, and combining different art mediums with photography, along with alternative approaches brought by mastermind members.

The 2026-27 cohorts are full. I invite you to join the early notification list for the 2027-28 cohorts. You’ll receive information and be able to register before it’s announced more broadly. Spots are limited to no more than 8 per cohort. Add yourself to the notification list so you don’t miss this opportunity!

Heartland Photo/Creativity Retreat 2027

Join Beth and Murray Livingston as we gather for a retreat designed to expand your creative confidence as a photographer. We’ll be exploring overlooked locations and hidden gems in the high plains of South Dakota’s Black Hills National Forest and Badlands National Park, from towering pine-clad granite peaks reflected in mirror lakes to otherworldly eroded layered sandstone buttes. Our focus will be on developing photographic practices around intention and personal meaning, with an emphasis on expanding possibilities through intimate scenes, abstraction, and experimentation. Our experience will be enriched by connecting with one another via group conversations, image sharing, and time in the field.

The Abstract Photography Sandbox on Skool.com

If you're craving a space for Creative Contrarians, where you can explore, learn, share, and converse about abstract and experimental photography in a distraction-free zone, join me in The Abstract Photography Sandbox (TAPS).

TAPS is a combination hang-out, learning lab, accountability partner, and coach. Away from algorithms that decide what you see and the parade of useless content and ads that flood your feed, TAPS is where you can focus, connect, and make progress on your creative goals.

And in the spirit of a sandbox, it's a space where you can play, mess up, and get your hands a little dirty.

When it comes to content, the TAPS philosophy is simple: less is more, quality over quantity. Resources, events, and offerings will respond to community interests.

In other words, this is a co-created space that becomes more valuable the more you engage.
